South Padre Island is a barrier island reached from Port Isabel across the Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge (formerly the Queen Isabella Causeway), 2.37 miles over the Laguna Madre. On the mainland side, Port Isabel and Laguna Vista offer bay views and golf course living a short drive from the beach.
